In 2019, the market opens on 25 November and closes on 29 December. Opening hours every day are 11am to 8pm and the market is closed on December 24th and 25th, with reduced opening hours between December 26th and 29th. The town centre and market square have now been restored back to their original appearance from before the war, and you can enjoy a wonderful parade of charming timber-framed facades, even though not every building has been re-built in this style.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;http:\/\/www.letsgetlost.no\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Hildesheim12.jpg&#8221; force_fullwidth=&#8221;on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.67&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.0.67&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|100px||100px&#8221; custom_padding_phone=&#8221;|0px||0px&#8221; custom_padding_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The building on the right in the photograph is the only one to be re-built using the traditional timber framing techniques, and contains only wooden pegs and no nails or screws in the construction. The largest tree is over 10 metres tall and is decorated with more than 7,500 LED lights.<\/p>\n<p>The twinkling lights illuminating the Christmas trees in and around the market provide the perfect festive feeling. The town hall nearby also has an indoors Christmas Market with a great range of arts and crafts.<\/p>\n<p>The charming, old-fashioned merry-go-round keeps the young children amused, and the Christmas songs played instead of the normal merry-go-round music enhance the joyful Christmas spirit.<\/p>\n<p>For older children, and adults, there is a large Ferris wheel.
